On Writing

I write because I have to. Some people paint or play tennis. I write. Everyday. No exceptions. And when I'm not writing, I'm thinking about writing. It's almost like an infection that I can't get rid of. I have notebooks and pens stashed all over the house, my classroom, my purse. Just in case. I'm not well.

I'm a writer.

A blank page excites me. It is the physical embodiment of the word "POSSIBILITY." It also holds great power--a power I get to play with whenever I want. I control everything that goes onto that blank page from the who, the what, the when, to the where. I even control the how. Will it be poetry or nonfiction? Short story or novel? A letter or a blog post? Oh, my!

I'm finally seeing the effects of my passion, my obsession with writing. What are your passions?
